⁶ Furthermore, by these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. ⁷ By the same word, the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, being kept for the Day of Judgment and the destruction of sinners.

⁸ But do not ignore this one fact, beloved: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
